As a very innovative company ProGlove always further develops their products. Having different product versions on the market and constantly ramping up new prototypes to serial production was a big challenge. The mechanical properties of their housings needed to be as durable as those of an injection molded part. Another challenge was the white color of the PA12 parts produced with SLS. In the beginning the parts were spray painted afterwards, but the color faded during use.
With our Print-to-Product workflow those challenges could be overcome. ProGlove uses PolyShot Surfacing with the Powershot S for a premium look & feel as well as an improved scratch resistance. For the color, they use our DeepDye Coloring technology – an infiltration process which is more durable than spray painting because the dye stuff penetrates the base material.
3D-printing combined with the right finishing touch enabled them to overcome their challenges:
- short innovation cycles from prototypes to series
- a more sustainable production
- premium look & feel with optimized haptics
- industrial manufacturing through reproducible processes

The lamp and battery holders for the modular Protos Integral helmet needed to meet the same safety standards as the helmet itself, and hold up to daily wear & tear without breaking or losing their elasticity.
Together with our Production Partner 1zu1 Prototypen, Pfanner Austria Schutzbekleidung was able to produce and thoroughly test the holders that were printed with SLS technology and finished with the DyeMansion Print-to-Product workflow and integrate them into their helmets.
1zu1 Prototypen were able to create parts for the Protos Integral helmet that are:
- elastic
- robust
- temperature resistant
- precise
- and ready for years of use!

Summary
Kuhn-Stoff GmbH & Co KG, based in Weingarten, Germany, does about 10% of their business in the food & beverage industry. Most of the applications that Hannes Kuhn and his team design, produce and finish for their customers are grippers or automation systems in special machine construction field. Since special machine construction parts mostly involve individual parts or small series, the advantages of 3D-printing can be used fully for all parties involved. The application shown here is one of them.
It is a part for the production of cookies and the corresponding application of toppings to these cookies. The toppings slide through the part onto the cookies during the manufacturing process. The part is manufactured with SLS on an EOS printer in the material PA2201. The base material as well as our VaporFuse Eco Fluid solvent for the Powerfuse S are approved for the contact with food according to EU No. 10/2011 and can therefore be used in the food industry without any concerns. After processing with the Powerfuse S, the parts are sealed, smooth, easy to clean and tight.

Summary
In October 2023 we were elated to mark a momentous achievement: the sale of our 1000th machine. The 1000th machine was a Powerfuse S, our advanced vapor smoothing system for highly industrial manufacturing and was delivered to ZEISS Vision Care with a Powershot C for cleaning.
ZEISS Vision Care is a global leader in the ophthalmic industry, providing lenses, instruments, applications and platforms to opticians, retailers and optometrists in more than 60 markets worldwide. In the lab at their plant in Aalen ZEISS Vision Care uses an HP MJF printer, a DyeMansion Powershot C and a Powerfuse S. The plant also develops manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 applications that are used in prescription production at ZEISS Vision Care worldwide. The AM equipment is used for the production of tools for the production of individual precision eyeglass lenses.
Andreas Dangelmaier, Head of Engineering Design at ZEISS Vision Care says: “We chose the Powerfuse S from DyeMansion because the system is perfectly tailored for finishing our 3D printed plastic parts. For use in our cleanroom environment, the surface quality requirements are extremely high. In addition, Industry 4.0 capabilities, precision, and connectivity of the DyeMansion system are indispensable. Of course, we also particularly like the sustainability aspect due to the non-toxic and biodegradable polishing medium.”
The 1000th system was sold through DyeMansion sales partner Bechtle Group. Based out of Langenau, Germany, Bechtle Group has joined DyeMansion’s Global Partner Platform in March 2020. “We are excited to support our customer ZEISS Vision Care with post-processing solutions by DyeMansion. Our partnership with DyeMansion is a key to our success, as DyeMansion’s finishing systems are the perfect complement for industrial 3D printing with HP Multi Jet Fusion technology”, says Patrick Schnizler, Director Manufacturing Solutions at the Bechtle Group.
